Orthopedics Club

Healthy Animals, Healthy People, Healthy Planet

Mission Statement
The Orthopedics Club provides veterinary students with hands-on learning opportunities to increase their knowledge and confidence in orthopedic medicine. We are for anybody who has an interest in orthopedics, surgery, or those hoping to specialize. Ortho Club is the only surgery-focused club at the CVM. Past club activities include bandaging labs, case-based interactive lectures, fracture repair labs, comparative medicine lectures, and many lunch and dinner lectures.

First years, the orthopedics club will provide you with real clinical scenarios in which you will be able to make use of the many anatomical landmarks you will be learning. This will make anatomy come to life and help you remember all of those little bony details. Second years, by participating in the bandaging and fracture repair labs, you will have a great head-start before your third year labs begin. Third years, discussing real cases with clinicians and fellow students will provide you with an experience that will be extremely beneficial in preparing you for your fourth year in clinics.
