Great Horned owl chick reunited with Mom & Sibling

A great horned owl chick was found on the playground of Lincoln Middle School in Pullman. The chick was kept at the College of Veterinary Medicine for a week until it was confirmed that his mother was still in the area.

Once the mother was found, the college also had to find a way to safely return the chick to its nest. On March 21, 2011 Avista donated the use of its large bucket truck and the time and talents of linesman Tom Haeder, to reach the nest 40 feet off the ground. The chick was placed in the nest with its sibling.
