Recognition
In 2019, Simulation-Based Education (that encompasses the Clinical Simulation Center and Clinical Communication Program) became the world's very first veterinary-focused simulation program to earn accreditation from the flagship organization the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). It was a huge team effort and our sincere thanks to ALL those who contributed to this tremendous milestone achievement.

Dr. Julie Cary, the Director of Simulation-Based Education, was justly honored at the 2019 International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare. During that meeting, Dr. Cary became the world's second veterinarian to earn the title of Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator through SSH and received the Simulation Pioneer Award sponsored by Education Management Solutions. The combination of accolades highlights Dr. Cary's unique brand of leadership that is equal parts imagination and drive.
In recognition of the impact Simulation-Based Education has had for veterinary students, practitioners, and staff throughout the Northwest, the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association recognized Dr. Cary and her SBE teammates with the 2019 Faculty Members of the Year Award.
