Rance Sellon

Dr. Rance Sellon, a board-certified veterinarian in small animal internal medicine and oncology, is the inaugural chairholder of the Dr. Rance Sellon Endowed Chair in Veterinary Clinical Oncology. Dr. Sellon has a passion for clinical teaching and trying to find answers to clinically relevant questions. In 2024, he earned the student-nominated American Association of Veterinary Medical College’s Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award — the most prestigious teaching award in veterinary medicine. Dr. Sellon’s research areas of interest include tumor resistance to chemotherapy and glucocorticoids. He is a former member of The Veterinary Journal editorial board, an at-large member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Board of Regents, and a Wescott Clinical Teaching Award winner. An endowed faculty chair is one of academia’s highest honors, offering permanent funding to recruit and retain exceptional faculty. The Dr. Rance Sellon Endowed Chair in Veterinary Clinical Oncology will supplement the chairholder’s salary and support salaries for research assistants and cover research-related expenses.
