Biography

Dr. Bettina Darveshi is a new lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and has joined the Small Animal Emergent Surgery Service. After she earned a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in Scotland, United Kingdom, in 2016, she completed a rotating internship at a busy private hospital (VetsNow, 2016-2017). Her position was extended to an emergency room clinical role until an orthopedic surgical internship at another private hospital (Fitzpatrick Referrals, 2018-2019) in the United Kingdom became available. Prior to joining the WSU surgery team for her small animal surgery residency in 2019, she also briefly worked as a private practitioner at a charity clinic. In 2022, Bettina completed her small animal surgery residency and Master of Science training at WSU. Her clinical interests include fracture management, minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, and wound healing. Outside of the hospital, Bettina spends time training and traveling with her Newfoundlands. She has previously certified her dogs as Internal Lifesaving Federation’s canine lifeguard dogs and is currently working toward certification for her youngest.
