Dr. Matt Mason grew up in Spokane, Washington, and completed his bachelor’s degree at Whitworth College before heading to WSU, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After finishing veterinary school, Dr. Mason began his career practicing at a small animal clinic in Lewiston, Idaho. After practicing in the Lewiston valley for four years, he returned to the Palouse area and has practiced in Moscow, Idaho, for the past 10 years. Having a passion for working with veterinary students and the desire to teach, he made the transition to the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine to serve with the Community Practice team.

Dr. Mason enjoys the variety of cases that he sees in general practice and is passionate about preventative care. He enjoys getting to know people through helping their pets and loves to see students connect with clients and build relationships.

He and his wife, Allison, have two children, a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, and enjoy raising their family on the Palouse. They have a very active flat coated retriever named Olympus who keeps them on their toes.

Dr. Mason enjoys outdoor recreational activities, including hiking, biking, and fishing. He also enjoys a good woodworking project and working alongside his wife fixing up their old 1940 home.
