Biography
Dr. John Mattoon graduated from Oregon State and Washington State Universities in 1984. Following small animal practice in Portland, Oregon, he began a radiology residency at UC Davis, earning Diplomate status in ACVR in 1989. Dr. Mattoon worked as a specialist in San Francisco before beginning an academic career at Oregon State in 1991. He has since been faculty at the Atlantic Veterinary College, The Ohio State University, and WSU, and was Chief Radiologist with Antech Imaging Services from 2014-2016. He has returned to WSU as a Clinical Professor, focusing on resident and student training. Dr. Mattoon has been honored with numerous teaching awards and has served the ACVR in various positions for many years, including President. Dr. Mattoon is co-editor of Small Animal Diagnostic Ultrasound, has 90 scientific publications, chapters in several veterinary textbooks, and has had the pleasure of presenting at over 100 meetings worldwide.
