Biography
Bryan Slinker retired in 2020 as Professor and Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. After a postdoctoral fellowship at UC San Francisco, he served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Vermont before returning to WSU in 1992 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN). He was Chair of IPN from 1998 – 2008 and then served as Dean from 2008 – 2019, when he served as Interim Provost until retirement. He taught a variety of subjects to both graduate students and 1st and 2nd year DVM students. His research focused on heart and cardiac muscle function. He also co-authored a statistics text, Primer of Applied Regression and Analysis of Variance. He was a Director of the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle from 2009-2021, and is currently a Director of the Washington State Animal Health Foundation.
