Veterinary Teaching Hospital Undergraduate Internship

Student interns work a minimum of 6 hours per week, learning valuable skills and gaining experience they can put to use in veterinary school and beyond.

Application deadlines

  • October for internships beginning in January
  • April for internships beginning in August


Pre-veterinary undergraduate students enrolled at WSU or the University of Idaho who plan to attend veterinary school. Preference is given to sophomores and juniors. Students must be able to participate for three full semesters.   

1st semester

Large animal clinic rotations: agricultural animal, barn crew, equine medicine, and equine surgery

2nd semester

Small animal clinic rotations: anesthesia, community practice, exotics, neurology, and referrals

Final semester

Mentor incoming interns and choose one or two clinics to work in for the entire semester
