What are your main areas of interest in the field of veterinary medicine?

- Orthopedic surgery
- Dermatology
Extracurricular opportunities:
- Veterinary Behavior Club
- Veterinary Business Management Association
- Mission Veterinary Partners student representative
Why did you choose to attend our program for veterinary school?
I chose Washington State University for its diverse and experienced veterinary faculty. I was certain that I would receive an extraordinary education, and that has held true. Having professors from different cultural and educational backgrounds has allowed me to view veterinary medicine from a more wholistic approach. There are many ways to practice veterinary medicine but teaching optimal patient care is a common goal among all the WIMU faculty members.
Are living costs in Pullman expensive?
Generally, no. Many students will live with roommates and can find affordable housing. I live in an apartment downtown with a roommate. Our equal share of the rent is $500. After talking with fellow classmates, that price is pretty average across the board. Other classmates of mine live in Moscow, the neighboring town in Idaho.

What do you do to maintain school/life balance?
I work breaks into my schedule. I joined an intramural sand volleyball team with my classmates that plays every Monday night. That arrangement worked the best for us because we had actual games to play.
