Hailing from Pasco, Washington, Arielle Gomez-Ramirez has spent nearly a decade in Pullman as she has traversed her journey in veterinary medicine that has been shaped by her deep-rooted love for animals and a desire to make a difference in her community.

Hailing from Pasco, Washington, Arielle is interested in small animal general practice and shelter medicine. She believes that every pet owner deserves access to affordable veterinary care and reliable information.

“I’m thrilled to be joining a hospital back in the Tri-Cities that shares my values and commitment to the community,” she said.

Arielle said WSU has provided her with incredible hands-on learning opportunities that have prepared her for her career.

“From skills labs to working with both teaching animals and client-owned pets in the teaching hospital, I’ve gained invaluable experience. Networking events have also allowed me to build lasting relationships within the veterinary community,” she said.

When she’s not studying or working with animals, Arielle enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and their two dogs, Teddie and Chloe.

“We love hiking, visiting parks, and taking road trips to explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest,” she said.

One of her favorite spots in Pullman is Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Shop.

“After a long exam, I would treat myself to their huckleberry ice cream,” she said. “It became a delicious ritual during both my undergraduate and veterinary studies.”

Fun fact: Arielle dreams of one day owning upward of eight dogs! For now, she’s content with her standard poodle, Teddie, and her golden retriever, Chloe, who keep her busy and bring her immense joy.
