Brooke Ramay is an assistant research professor at the Paul G. Allen School for Global Health and has a dual appointment at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) as an associate professor and researcher at the Center for Health Studies.

Dr. Ramay´s main research activities focus on risk factors contributing to the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in humans living in the low- to middle-income country setting. Her projects take into consideration the role of sanitation and hygiene, consumption of food products, exposure to animals, and antibiotic use and administration on AMR. Her current research platforms are based in the Western Highlands of Guatemala in the regional hospital and in the community. In addition to AMR-based projects, she is also working on the development and implementation of a multisite antimicrobial stewardship program in five Guatemalan hospitals.
