Biography

Dr. Bose’s research is focused on understanding innate immune inflammatory and antiviral response against respiratory viruses like influenza A virus, human respiratory syncytial virus, and parainfluenza viruses. Dr. Bose conducted his post-doctoral studies at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio as a Morgenthaler Foundation post-doctoral fellow. Following his post-doc, Dr. Bose was recruited by University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School (Microbiology & Immunology) as Assistant Professor. He became a tenured Professor at UT-medical school in 2010 and moved to Washington State University in 2014. He was appointed as Caroline Engle Distinguished Professor of Research on Infectious Diseases from 2015-2017. Dr. Bose holds multiple US patents, and he has served as a regular member of National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Innate Immunity and Inflammation study section (2012-2016). Currently he is a Section Editor of Journal of Immunology (JI) and Academic Editor of PLoS ONE. He was elected as a fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2022 and received Zoetis Award for Research Excellence in 2020.
