Biography

Alan Goodman was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Central NY. He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. His thesis focused on translational control of influenza virus infection. He completed post-doctoral training in Microbiology and Immunology at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología in Madrid, Spain and the University of Miami, where he studied influenza virus vaccines and innate immunity. He started his faculty position at Washington State University in 2014. He resides in Pullman, WA with his wife, Tran, and two boys, Jacob and Nathan.
