All over campus right now I hear, “can you believe our beautiful fall?” The light, the weather, the leaves and just a hint of frost in the mornings.
Depending on the day, Lori Tierney can find herself helping to care for pets and animals ranging from birds and lizards to dogs and horses. Lori joined our team at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in June of 2023 as float technician, meaning she works with all the services at the hospital.

Reagan Simek, a genetics and cell biology student at WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine, is on track to graduate in the spring with ambitions to attend medical school. Originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota, Reagan’s fascination with genetics began in high school when she learned about the genetic basis of her family’s chronic migraines.
Despite being in its infancy, faculty and staff of WSU’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree program have made significant progress in developing an infrastructure reflective of our values of inclusivity, accountability, and free intellectual exchange.
Dr. Giuseppe Giannotti’s research focuses on understanding the neuronal circuits driving heroin relapse and, in particular, those that overlap with aversion. His work may one day lead to interventions that can improve recovery outcomes for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder.
