Rehabilitated osprey is released back into the wild

Dr. Logsdon about to open the cage to release the raptor.

An adult osprey was discovered grounded near Windust Park earlier in 2025 with low levels of lead in its system—likely from ingesting contaminated fish or fishing tackle. Thanks to the dedicated work of our wildlife veterinarians, the bird made a full recovery and was released in early June, 2025, near its original rescue site. This case is a reminder of both the dangers of environmental pollutants and the power of expert wildlife care.
