Ambassador spotlight: Elle Nesbitt

Are you considering WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine? Our student ambassadors are available to provide insight into our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.

Third-year student Elle Nesbitt’s passion for serving as a student ambassador for WSU’s veterinary program is rooted in her belief that ambassadors play a crucial role in representing the program authentically. She also wants to offer guidance to prospective students navigating the challenging path to becoming veterinarians.

“I want to be an authentic representation of the program by sharing my personal experiences while being open to answering any questions that come along,” she said.

Elle understands the stress and uncertainty that aspiring veterinary students often face during the application process. Her goal is to make the knowledge and expertise of student ambassadors more easily accessible to the public, offering prospective students a valuable resource.

Elle’s professional interests are diverse, encompassing a mixed animal practice and a special fascination with equine dentistry.

She believes what makes WSU unique is the exceptional support and resources it provides. The faculty and support staff, she said, are among the best in the field, offering a learning environment that exceeds expectations. The curriculum, extracurricular activities offered through various clubs, and the Clinical Simulation Center provide endless opportunities for growth and learning.

“From the moment they personally called to offer me a spot in the class of 2025, I have felt welcomed and supported by all faculty here,” Elle said.

One of Elle’s most meaningful experiences in the program has been the Diagnostic Challenges.

“I learned more in those two weeks and took so many strides forward as a veterinary student than I ever could have imagined. It was such a fun and enjoyable, yet educational experience working with some of the best mentors and learning how to problem-solve with my classmates,” she said. “I will never forget our cases!”
