Meet the Class of 2021: Kaitlyn Gray

Kaitlyn Gray has quite a collection of pets. The list includes two dogs, a pair of cats, four ferrets, birds, snakes, lizards, tortoises and fish. When she can, Kaitlyn enjoys walking her dogs, Bee, a 7-year-old Australian shepherd, and Jett, a 5-year-old border collie, around the WSU campus with her husband, Zachary; they also frequent the river in Lewiston. From Las Cruces, New Mexico, Kaitlyn is excited to return home – “especially if there’s Mexican food from Andele’s restaurant and frozen custard from Caliche’s involved” – after she earns her DVM this spring. Kaitlyn will work at @Arroyo Veterinary Clinic, where she was employed as an assistant before veterinary school. “It is a small-animal practice and I hope to start seeing exotics as well,” she said. “I love animals but I also find the aspect of helping people extremely rewarding. I think it’s incredible getting to be a part of the amazing relationship that develops between an owner and their pet, and being able to help them during the great times and the hard times.”

Fun Fact: Kaitlyn Gray’s all-time favorite show is “Friends.” “I have seen the series probably hundreds of times at this point and I still don’t get tired of it. Best show ever,” she said.
