Rattlesnake Ridge Riders, Inc.

The Rattlesnake Ridge Riders make an annual donation to the College of Veterinary Medicine to provide a scholarship to be awarded to a Washington State University Veterinary Student interested in pursuing a career in equine veterinary medicine. The student may be in any year (first year through graduate student), and preferably from the Northwest (WA, OR, CA, ID, MT, or AK). The student must be in good standing, preferable with a GPA of 3.0 or better.

The Rattlesnake Ridge Riders, Inc. is a local chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen of Washington (BCHW) and Back Country Horsemen of America. Our purpose is to perpetuate the recreational use of equines on our public lands. We provide significant volunteer work to various government and private agencies for trail development and maintenance, campsite development, fence building and/or removal, trash removal, etc., in addition to providing input into agency land management plans. We also promote good environmental practices applicable to all user groups through our Leave No Trace education program. As a not-for-profit corporation [501 (c) 4], the best use of our small surplus of finds is for education in an appropriate field.
