Dr. Sanz is a board-certified equine medicine veterinarian who works as a clinician in the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital caring for horse patients and as an assistant professor in Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Her research focuses on the immune response of horses to infectious and non-infectious conditions, such as Rhodococcus equi; exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage; and exercise. Dr. Sanz completed an equine internship and a large animal internal medicine residency. She earned a Master of Science degree at WSU and a veterinary degree from the Universidad Nacional de la Plata in Argentina. She also earned a PhD and was a post doctorate in equine immunology at the Gluck Equine Research Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was a senior lecturer in equine medicine at the Onderstepoort Veterinary School in South Africa from 2008-2011 and has been a faculty member at WSU since 2015.
