Dr. Steve Lampa teaches some of the critical core classes, including small animal anatomy, large animal anatomy, and neuroanatomy, to veterinary and neuroscience students at WSU.
Dr. Nelson is the lead cardiologist at WSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She is also passionate about wildlife and works closely with zoos and animal refuge programs to assess the heart health of animals like bears and great apes.
Phil Mixter joined Washington State University more than 25 years ago as an associate professor and he is motivated by his students’ energy, creativity, and eagerness to learn.
Teri Olson is a licensed veterinary technician in equine surgery at the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She has helped to care for horses and other large animals while ensuring students receive the best possible training for nearly three decades.
Associate Professor Jillian Haines graduated from WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Now back and board-certified in small animal internal medicine, Dr. Haines’ work focuses on canine megaesophagus and platelet function therapy.
Ryan Baumwart joined Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2020. A full-time cardiology assistant professor at WSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Dr. Baumwart arrived in Pullman with a vision for advancing animal health through his students.
