Graduate student collaborates with PNNL on infectious disease prediction modeling

A WSU student is using internet‑based data collection about disease events in pre‑determined locations and various modeling techniques to predict the spread of diseases.

Medical school is in the plans for Sydney Swatzell when she graduates from WSU this spring. The Spokane, Washington, native and West Valley High School graduate is currently pursuing a degree in neuroscience and specializing in pre-medicine.
