Neuroscience students Peyton Burpee and Rashi Karda, both aspiring physicians, were awarded the Peter A. Zornes Memorial Neuroscience Scholarship on April 5, 2024.

From Spokane and a proud graduate of Mead Senior High School, Lilinoe McCanna will be graduating from WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in May with a degree in biochemistry. Following graduation, Lilinoe will be heading to Pacific University where she will study to become an optometrist.

Dr. Alan Goodman is leading research in the College of Veterinary Medicine into the immune response to infectious pathogens like Coxiella burnetii and West Nile virus. Goodman joined the college in 2014 and currently serves as an associate professor in the School of Molecular Biosciences and as an affiliate faculty member in the Paul G. Allen School for Global Health.

Connie Fraser is a veterinary technician in the neurology service at WSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

From broodmare management to wildlife rehab, as a product of WSU’s regional program in veterinary medicine, Stephanie Scoville has been exposed to about every area of the field.

Bri Jones is pursuing a PhD in Molecular Biosciences and has focused her research efforts on archaea, tiny organisms that can live in some of the most diverse and harsh environments on the planet.
